Along the side of the road winding its way around White Rock Lake, this musk thistle (a.k.a. nodding thistle; Carduus nutans) bloom offered pollen galore to the small bee (unidentified) that spent much time collecting sustenance amongst the plant’s thorny flowers. The beauty of this scene went unappreciated by all but me. Why does no one else notice?
