Building only at dusk, capturing this unidentified orb weaver’s spectacular creation demands patience, the right moment and sunglasses.  It spins this web from the tree outside my patio, but it also builds it only in the last moments of daylight and in a place where it’s only visible when looking into the setting sun.  Oh, and the spider is tiny, a fraction the size of a dime.  The web, however, leaves me wondering how so much silk can be produced by such a minuscule creature.

The answer, of course, is that it eats and recycles the entire web every morning before dawn is fully realized.
